Kent’s Jack Green has made it through to the semi-finals of the men’s 400m hurdles in his first ever Olympic Games.

The 20 year old from Maidstone finished in the second automatic qualifying spot with a time of 49.49s after starting off slowly but managed to push to the front after the first bend.

Green will now compete in the semi-finals on Saturday evening which are set to get underway at 7pm.

Meanwhile, trampolinist Kat Driscoll, from Chatham, will be looking to get her Olympics off to a great start when she begins her assault on a medal on Saturday.
